Greenhill is a manufacturer of premium quality wood utility poles. We buy, peel and distribute superior Northwest grown Douglas Fir poles.  With two rail served yards in West Eugene, Greenhill can readily supply the utility industry demand for untreated poles by rail or truck transport.

Muti-commodity Transload Services

Greenhill has two rail served yards on the Coos Bay Rail Line, one in west Eugene and another in North Bend on the Oregon Coast. We receive truckloads of  logs, chips and aggregates and store and transload them onto rail cars for delivery between the coastal and inland markets. In addition to the cost saving efficiencies of rail transport, the reduction in carbon emissions and wear and tear on the highways is significant, with over 11,000 trucks annually being “taken off” the road on our coastal rail shipments alone.

In June, 2023, Greenhill will add rail service to its other yard at 100 Premier St in West Eugene, offering direct access to the Union Pacific Class 1 rail line, which will enable Greenhill to offer additional transload services to our customers  anywhere in the US.  

Aggregate

Operated by our sister company, Lost Creek Rock Products, the Parvin Butte Quarry in Dexter, Oregon, 82269 Rattlesnake Rd is a producer of high-quality basalt rock. It also produces AREMA spec UPPR certified Class 1 ballast for the railroad industry. Greenhill stocks ballast rock at our west Eugene yard and ballast and other hard rock selections at our North Bend yard, providing quality hard rock to the coastal markets. Greenhill is the primary supplier of high quality ballast materials to the Coos Bay Rail Line, offering our own fleet of bottom dump hopper cars and gondola cars.
